I have a very, very easy and tasty pie that I make from time to time for friends and family and have been requested to cater for parties because it is that good. It’s the simplest apple pie you can make from scratch, and it turns out to be like both a pie and cookie. It is divine if you top it off with cool whip or ready whip.
Ingredients: 1 large cored and thinly sliced apple ¾ teaspoon white sugar 1 cup sugar ¾ cup butter, melted, ½ cup chopped pecans, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 egg, lightly beaten. Pinch of salt.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie pan with margarine.
- Fill 2/3 of the pan with sliced apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1 teaspoon sugar.
- In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup sugar with the melted butter. Stir in pecans, flour, egg and salt. Mix well. Spread mixture over the apples.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
