Taste and learn to make your own Kiawe energy bars with Waianae Gold founder/owner Vince Kana`i Dodge. He will share the benefits of Kiawe bean pod flour. Naturally sweet, gluten free, and diabetic friendly, the flour made from the dried pulverized bean pods of the kiawe tree; the most common wild tree growing on the Wai`anae coast. AARP Free Tax-Aide
Waianae Public Library will host the AARP Tax-Aide, a free tax preparation service beginning on February 2 – April 14, 2016 from 9:00 am-12:30 pm. The AARP volunteers are IRS-certified and this service is free to all taxpayers, first come, first served.
Waianae Public Library will celebrate Black History Month onSaturday Feb 27, 2016 at 1:00 with a panel presentation on Black Scientists and Inventors and Black Americans and the U.S. Civil War. This is a family program.
Learn to Play American Mah Jongg at Waianae Library. This series of classes will begin on Wednesday, March 9 at 1:00 and continue for 4 classes (March 9,16,23. 30) Join us to learn how to play using the American rules. This is a free class but registration is required. Please call the library (697-7868) to reserve your set. Must be 18 or older.
