Waianae Library News – September 2013

Waianae Public Library will host Amira Shea, local author professional writer, for two programs at Waianae Public Library in August 2015:

  • Resume workshop on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, 6:00 P.M. – Shea will provide guidance on current trends in the field, formatting and wording suggestions, and general tips to help you put your best foot forward in today’s job market. Resume Workshop
  • Story time with Amira Shea on Saturday, August 15, 2015, 10:30 A.M. – Shea will be back at Waianae Public Library to read from her children’s picture books featuring “The Adventures of Amarys & Indigo.” This is a new series for early readers that features 4-year old fraternal twins Amarys and Indigo, kamaaina children of mixed African-American ancestry, which adds another voice to Hawaii’s multicultural chorus. Copies of the books will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Amira Storytime

Pat Pang (Nozaki) is a retired DOE secondary school teacher who taught school in Waianae for almost 40 years. She has served the community as a member of the Waianae Neighborhood Board and as a delegate to the 1978 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention. She was raised on the Nanakuli Hawaiian Homestead and resided in Waianae during her years as a teacher.
