Nanakuli High School Performing Arts Center Provides Holiday Entertainment

Nanakuli High and Intermediate School has a full load of student activities to keep school busy during April, May, and June. Here are the events planned for the end of the 2015 school year:

April 2 –  8th grade Youth Leadership Conference sponsored by Valley of Rainbows @ Aulani.

11 – Band car wash fundraiser @Waianae Store.

14 – Traffic Safety sign-waving, 3:00 – 3:45 P.M., Nanakuli Beach Park.

16 – 10th grade Youth Leadership Conference sponsored by Valley of the Rainbows @ Ala Moana Hotel.

17-18, 24-26 – Nanakuli Performing Arts Center, “Honk Jr.” performances @ NHIS Multi-Purpose Building.

18 – National Honor Society car wash fundraiser @ Waianae Store.

18 – Junior-Senior Prom @Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel.

22 – Administrative Professionals Day, Earth Day.

23 – JROTC Governor’s Review @ Fort Shafter

24 – Leeward District Preschool Play Day.

25 – Freshman-Sophomore Banquet @ Rumours.

May 1 – 13th Annual May Day Ho’olaulea, 5:00 – 9:00 A.M. on campus; food, games, crafts, and entertainment; public invited.

2 – Band car wash fundraiser @Waianae Store.

4-8 – Teacher Appreciation Week.

6 – Blood Drive.

6 – Awards Night, 7:00 -8:00 P.M., Multipurpose Building.

8 – 8th grade banquet.

12 – Military Appreciation Luncheon.

13 – Student Council/Student Government installation of new officers/appreciation luncheon.

20 – Athletic Banquet.

21 – Aloha Assembly.

30 – 44th Commencement Ceremony, 5:00 P.M., NHIS Gymnasium.

June 3 – Last day of school for students.

4 – Last day of school for teachers.

Pat Pang (Nozaki) is a retired DOE secondary school teacher who taught school in Waianae for almost 40 years. She has served the community as a member of the Waianae Neighborhood Board and as a delegate to the 1978 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention. She was raised on the Nanakuli Hawaiian Homestead and resided in Waianae during her years as a teacher.
