Nanakuli High School & Intermediate School Events – January, February & March 2013

Nanakuli High and Intermediate School has some exciting events coming up in the next few months of spring. The school schedule is as follows:

  • February 3-28 – Hawaii State Assessment testing in grades 7, 8, and 10.
  • February 11 –  Health Occupations and Professions Exploration students visit John A. Burns School of Medicine; FAFSA night for seniors and their parents at 5:30 P.M. in A Building Conference Room.
  • February 12 – Discover Leeward Day.
  • February 13 – Lady Hawk softball team recognition at the State Capitol.
  • February 14 – Sadie Hawkins Dance hosted by seniors, 5:30-8:00 P.M., Multi-Purpose Building.
  • February 15 – Great Aloha Run High School Fitness Challenge at Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, 1:00-3:00 P.M.
  • February 17 – Great Aloha Run; bus pickup at 4:30 A.M. in front of the school.
  • February 19 – Yearbook picture-taking after school for senior class hoss election winners and Spring Sports teams.
  • February 19, 20 – Mock Interviews for seniors.
  • February 27 –  Youth Leadership Conference for sophomores sponsored by Valley of Rainbows, 7:15 A.M.-5:30 P.M., at Ihilani Resort and Spa.
  • March 5 – It’s Academic Hawaii competition at Dave and Busters.
  • March 6 – 32nd annual Songfest competition, 7:00-9:00 P.M., NHS gym; public invited free of charge.
  • March 14 – 3rd quarter ends.
  • March 17-21 – Spring Break.
  • March 24 – Back to school, 4th quarter begins.
  • March 26 – Prince Kuhio Day, no school.
  • March 29 – Senior luau at Lani Ku Honua, 5:00-10:00 P.M.

Pat Pang (Nozaki) is a retired DOE secondary school teacher who taught school in Waianae for almost 40 years. She has served the community as a member of the Waianae Neighborhood Board and as a delegate to the 1978 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention. She was raised on the Nanakuli Hawaiian Homestead and resided in Waianae during her years as a teacher.
