Nanakuli-Maili Neighborhood Board No. 36 Meeting Discusses Homelessness

The Transportation Committee of the Nanakuli-Maili Neighborhood Board will meet on Thursday, July 17, 2014, 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the Maili Community Park, 87-360 Kulaaupuni Street, Maili. Chairman Richard Landford will hold discussions regarding these subjects for unfinished business: follow-up on The Bus issues on the Waianae Coast and Rail issues for the community.

The Parks and Recreation Committee of the Nanakuli-Maili Neighborhood Board will meet on Thursday, July 31, 2014, 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the Maili Community Park. Chairperson Grace will discuss these topics under unfinished business: more picnic and camping sites and Ulehawa comfort station update.

The joint Housing and Agricultural Committees meeting will follow at 7:00 P.M. at the Maili Community Park on July 31, 2014. Under old business the Housing Committee alone will deal with these issues:

  • Reports from Shelter Providers/Partners at Ulu Ke Kukui, Ohana Ola o Kahumana, Kumuhonua, Kahikolu Ohana Hale o Waianae, Pai`olu Kaiaulu, Onelau`ena, Maililand, and Onemalu.
  • Other affordable housing projects.
  • 100,000 Homes/Housing First Campaign update.
  • Hawaii Interagency Council on Homelessness (HICH) update.

For new business both the Housing and Agricultural committees will discuss the topic of permitting additional workforce housing on agricultural lands. (Refer to Bill 50, 2013, and City Council Dept. Comm. 582, websites for Resos and Bills.)

The general public is invited to attend these meetings and contribute to discussion.
