Homecoming Class Events

  • Students sign up for participation in class advisors’ room.
  • Activities ongoing now through Homecoming Week – Sept. 16-20, 2013: co-ed dance, skit, banner painting, and backdrop painting.

Blood Drive

  • Date: Monday, Sept. 9, 2013.
  • Time: 7:30 A.M.-3 P.M.
  • Place: Shop 2/`Olelo Room.
  • Sponsored by SHAPE/HOSA.

Homecoming Court King & Queen Finalists Elections

  • Date: Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.
  • Time: Lunch recess.
  • Place: Shop 2.
  • All students eligible to vote.

Poka’i Bay Beach Cleanup

  • Date: Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013.
  • Time: 8:00-10:00 A.M.
  • Place: Poka’i Bay Beach Park.
  • Sign up in Shop 2 during recess, lunch and after school.

Homecoming Rally – Class Competition Events

  • Date: Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.
  • Time: 7:00 P.M.
  • Place: Torii Stadium.
  • Open to the Public – free admission.
  • Class presentations of skits, co-ed dances, and backdrops.

Homecoming Game/Court Presentation

  • Date: Friday, Sept.27, 2013.
  • Time: Junior Varsity game starts at 5:00 P.M.; court appearance follows JV game; varsity game begins after court presentation.
  • Place: Torii Stadium.

Cap & Gown In-School Ordering #1

  • Date: Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.
  • Time: Lunch recess and after school.
  • Place: Shop 2.
  • Company: Herff Jones (phone 395-1322)
  • Cost: Basic Package – cap, gown, tassel: $33.25  until Dec. 2013 deadline; $15 late fee for orders from January-February 2014; extra late fee for orders from March 1, 2014.
  • Parent meeting will be held to discuss orders. Date to be announced.
  • Deadline for early orders is Dec. 29, 2013; all orders after this date will be charged a late fee.

AHA Scholarship Workshop

  • Date: Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013.
  • Time: 5:00-8:00 P.M.
  • Place: Cafeteria

Great Aloha Run

  • Date: Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.
  • Free registration for 75 students.
  • Registration forms available late Nov.-early Dec.

Going Green Community Recycling Day

  • Date: Saturday, March 1, 2014.
  • Time: 8:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.
  • Place: Waianae High School.
  • Collect recyclables from the community – computer equipment, batteries, scrap metal, eye glass, ink cartridges, etc.

Junior-Senior Prom

  • Date Saturday, April 5, 2014.
  • Time: 5:30-10:00 P.M.
  • Place: Dole Cannery Ballroom.

Freshman-Sophomore Banquet

  • Date: Thursday, April 17, 2014.
  • Time: To be announced.
  • Place: Waikele Golf Clubhouse.

Senior Luau

  • Date: Friday, May 16, 2014.
  • Time: 5:30-10:30 P.M.
  • Place: Torii Stadium (pending approval)

Graduation

  • Date: Friday, May 23, 2014.
  • Time: 6:00 P.M.
  • Place: Larry Ginoza Athletic Complex.

Pat

Pat Pang (Nozaki) is a retired DOE secondary school teacher who taught school in Waianae for almost 40 years. She has served the community as a member of the Waianae Neighborhood Board and as a delegate to the 1978 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention. She was raised on the Nanakuli Hawaiian Homestead and resided in Waianae during her years as a teacher.
