Nanakuli High School Performing Arts Center Provides Holiday Entertainment

Nanakuli High and Intermediate School has a full schedule of student events for their 2015 fall and winter calendar.

September 28-October 2 – Homecoming Week.

September 29 & 30 – Yearbook picture-taking for grades 7-11, fall sports, clubs and organizations, faculty and staff.

October 1 –

Senior cap and gown ordering.

All-Stars movie night, 5:00-8:30 P.M.

October 2 –

Homecoming pep rally, NHIS gym, 12:58-2:02 P.M.

Homecoming parade up Nanakuli Avenue at 4:00 P.M.

Homecoming game vs. Redford Rams, location TBA, JV at 5:00 P.M., Varsity to follow; court presentation at halftime.

End of 1st quarter.

October 3 –

JROTC Lightning Drill  [email protected] Wheeler Army Airfield.

SAT testing.

October 5 – JROTC Job Shadowing @ Tripler Army Medical Center.

October 5-9 – Fall break.

October 7 – JROTC Job Shadowing @ Tripler Army Medical Center.

October 8 – JROTC Rider Challenge @ Roosevelt High School.

October 12 – Teacher Institute Day, no school.

October 13 – 2nd quarter begins.

October 14 – PSAT/NMSQT testing, grade 11.

October 15-16 – Smarter Balanced Interim Comprehensive Assessment – English, grades 7, 8, 11.

October 19 – Smarter Balanced Interim Comprehensive Assessment – Math, grades 7, 8, 11.

October 21 – Flu shot clinic, AC room, 8:00-11:00 A.M.

October 23-24 – VEX Robotics Competition @ UH Manoa.

October 27 –

Yearbook picture-taking make-up day.

NACAC College Fair

October 28 – ASVAB testing.

October 29 – Hawaii College and Career Fair @ Neal Blaisdell Center.

October 30 – Professional Development Day for teachers, no school.

November 4 – Blood Drive, 8:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.

November 7 – SAT testing.

November 11 – Veterans Day, no school.

November 20 – Canned food drive/faculty vs. student volleyball game, 12:58-2:02 P.M. in gym.

November 26 – Thanksgiving Day, no school.

November 27 – School holiday.

December 4 – Culinary Arts event, details TBA.

December 11 –

Brown Bags to Stardom talent contest, 12:58-2:02 P.M. in gym.

Hawks Smash, Food Truck Bash, 5:00-9:00 P.M., NHIS campus.

December 12 – ACT testing.

December 17 – End of 2nd quarter/1st semester.

December 18-January 5 – Winter break.

January 5 – Teacher work day, no students.

January 6 – 3rd quarter begins.

Pat Pang (Nozaki) is a retired DOE secondary school teacher who taught school in Waianae for almost 40 years. She has served the community as a member of the Waianae Neighborhood Board and as a delegate to the 1978 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention. She was raised on the Nanakuli Hawaiian Homestead and resided in Waianae during her years as a teacher.
